Broken 3 times
Date: August 26, 2009
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Optimal clarity
Cons: hinge defect

I love the frame, and the lenses... but there seems to be a defect in the hinges. Since they were purchased for me as a gift June 2008 they have broken 3 times in the same hinge location. The #3 breakage just happened the other day and I'm seriously ticked off because I just got them back from repair #2, 2 months ago.

durability problem
Date: July 11, 2009
Pros: No glare
Cons: hinges break!, durability

Had them for less than four months. Had the same problem than other people - They broke at the point where the ear piece meets the hinge. There was no impact at all.

Broken ear pieces
Date: June 15, 2009
Pros: Comfortable, Optimal clarity, No glare
Cons: durability

I really like the look and feel of the sunglasses but my first pair broke at the left side temple hinge. My doctor replaced them and now the second pair just broke at both temple hinges

two tries
Date: May 28, 2009
Pros: Comfortable, No glare
Cons: not durable

I have purchased two pairs of these glasses. I like the way they look and overall performance was not bad but the durability was an issue. The first pair I purchased broke at the point were the ear piece meets the hing. This occurred when I dropped them from a 3 foot height. I thought maybe they hit the ground just right so after a few months I purchased another pair and these broke within 3 months at the same point but this time it was while I was wearing them and no impact occurred. These are fairly expensive and I expected better quality from a brand like Oakley.
