As purchasing a pair of prescription sunglasses is an expensive endeavor, one tends to want a quality product and that is just what one gets when they purchase these frames. As I have strong astigmatism, many of the sunglasses that I like can’t be turned into my prescription. These frames met the criteria and I finally have a pair of sunglasses that are stylish, comfortable and durable. Compared to my other sunglasses, these fit my face well and don’t have as much light leakage from the perimeter of the frames. Of course the frames do not have a heavy curve, which is why this frame permits a strong prescription, so there is still more light let in on the sides than what one may prefer but that is just a fact of life in the world of prescription sunglasses. These frames are impressive in both looks and construction. The material feels nearly indestructible, has a great look and has a subtle finish that reminds me of a cross between a smooth powder coating and a rubber/plastic compound. It has an interesting feel and a nice, subtle finish. When held in the hand, the glasses feel heavy; however, they feel light when worn. I think the lightweight feel is mostly due to the signature earpieces and balanced design. My everyday Prada glasses feel heavier when I wear them but are lighter on the scale. If you like style but you don’t want frames that scream out for attention, these frames are a great choice. If you want a pair of sunglasses that are proven to be tough, you have found them. Pair these frames up with the Oakley lenses and you will be trying to find an excuse to wear them inside at night! Speaking of lenses, I got the Oakley lenses and I am impressed with what Oakley says about them (the protection, construction, etc.) So far I can say that the mirror finish I had put on mine is much more subtle than many I have seen (and I am thankful for that). The lens material is thicker than I am used to but if the protection and performance Oakley speaks about is true, the few extra millimeters of thickness are worth it. The only thing that I keep trying to do is to wipe off the Oakley symbol on the lens. I don’t see it when I wear the glasses but I see a blurry “something” when I take them off to clean them and I just can’t shake the habit of trying to wipe that symbol off. That is a small price to pay, in my opinion.
