Pros: Comfortable, Optimal clarity
Cons: lens cracking
My very first pair of X-Metal.
I would wear them everyday if I were not so much afraid about cracking the lens again. Something like six month after buying them, I noticed that there was some kind of distortion near the upper articulation, where the nosebridge binds the orbitals. My optician told we that it was quite common with that model. Knowing that they were under warranty for a year, I've worn them hardly until I sent them to consumer service for a lens replacement. Then after that, I kept them secured in the display case to not damage the lens again.
But for the year I've been wearing them, I can say they have been one of the best eyewear I've ever worn.
Although they are a bit heavy, the rubber at the nosebridge and above the ears are large enough to distribute the weight and make them feel comfortable. The coverage is also perfect and the gold Iridium is very good for sunny days.
Beside its unique design, the Romeo are also the only model to have X-Metal etched on the lens, which can be a detail for most of people, but surely a plus for a collector.
I really wish I could still wear them without being concerned by the lens cracking.
If I should keep one and only one pair of sunglasses, it would be my Romeo 1, even if I don't wear them anymore.
